Iliotibial Band Syndrome
IT Band Syndrome is one of the most common injuries in runners presenting with lateral knee pain. The most common symptom is a sharp pain on the lateral aspect of the knee, particularly during the heel strike phase of running, that can radiate into the outer thigh or calf. Pain tends to be worse when running or coming downstairs.
